(College Project) - Completed 2024
This project involved designing branding and packaging for Blackwater Distilling, with a focus on creating a bold, character-driven identity that feels memorable and playful. The primary logo features a pirate dolphin standing on a boat, with a tall margarita glass formed through negative space in the body and bubbles blowing outward to add motion and personality. A pirate flag reinforces the nautical theme, while the typography balances strength and fluidity, pairing bold letterforms with softer, flowing elements to reflect the “water” in the brand name. For the Sloop Betty vodka bottle, the design shifts toward a softer, more targeted aesthetic aimed at a female audience. A pink, black, and white palette creates a cute and approachable feel, while the tan label background and formal type maintain a sense of quality. The dominant illustration being a pirate hat with a skull accented by a bow adds whimsy and charm, with the bow reappearing on the back label to create visual connection and cohesion throughout the packaging.
