For my commercial photography illustrated recipe project, I styled and photographed a strawberry cake to serve as the cover image for a magazine inspired by The Philippines’ largest-selling culinary magazine. The goal was to closely study and replicate the visual language of an existing publication while adding my own creative interpretation.
I analyzed the magazine’s layout system, typography, and hierarchy, then selected complementary font pairings that reflected its clean, appetizing, and editorial tone. While the overall structure and styling were influenced by the original magazine, I introduced subtle illustrative elements and typographic adjustments to personalize the design and make it my own.
